SUNDAY SCHOOL PARTY I Herald Correspondent.) The Te Ariuru meeting-house was the scene of a very jolly party for the children of the Anglican Sunday school. This was in lieu of the Christmas tree party that was held over on account of the epidemic restrictions,. A very pleasant time was spent in games and competitions, after which a delicious afternoon tea was served to the children and parents. On behalf of the mothers, Mrs. B. Collier thanked Misses Hills and Brydon for the excellent work they had done throughout the past year and presented each with a gift—a Cosmetic set — as a token of esteem from mothers and children. Special prizes for good attendance were presented by Miss Hills to Barbara and Margaret Malcolm. Brian and Stewart Ransley and Jimmy Agnew. It is owing to Miss Hills’ initiative and hard work that these prizes are available as she procures them herself. During the absence of Miss Hills at a recent meeting of the synod in Gisborne the work of Sunday school was carried on by Misses B. Brydon and Hilda Collier Tennis and Bowling Dance The dance, sponsored by members of the Tokomaru Bay bowling and tennis clubs, held in the Centennial Hall, proved most popular and there was a very large attendance of local dancing enthusiasts, as well as numbers from Te Fuia and the surrounding district. Mr. A. Ransley was the M.C., and the music was provided by Miss T. Ngawai’s orchestra. A tasty buffet supper was served by the ladies of both clubs. The funds from this evening go to the improvements to the buildings of both clubs.
