Conservation Works Unit Subsidy £3 for £1 and £2 for £l. Available to Farmers whereby the Works Unit undertakes control works on eroded gullies and also protection of banks of rivers and streams. 3. Gully and Stream Control Subsidy £3 for £l. Whereby Farmers and others may undertake with own labour and materials erosion control works in eroding gullies. Also available for stream bank protection work where such is incidental to stabilisation of adjoining hillsides. 4. Minor River Protection Works Subsidy £1 for £l. Available for minor river bank protection or river diversion works designed for protection of alluvial fiats. Expenditure by land holders under these schemes is classed as maintenance for taxation purposes.
