STOWAWAY HANDCUFFED
(11 am) BRISBANE, April 24. The master of the American ship Pioneer Star yesterday kept an 18-year-oid Australian stowaway handcuffed to the ship’s stairway for. eight hours without food or water. The youth boarded the vessel in Brisbane on Thursday night and hid under a tarpaulin on deck. He was discovered early yesterday morning when the Pioneer Star was 110 miles on her way fo America. The captain radioed for a launch to meet the Pioneer Star in Morcton Bay.
