Oranges From Palestine
A small trial shipment of oranges, about 500 cases, will be brought into New Zealand from Palestine, according to an announcement made by the Minister of Marketing, Mr. E. L. Cullen, to representatives of the citrus industry in Tauranga recently. He explained that pressure was being brought to bear by merchants, some of whom wished to import oranges from Australia and Palestine. The trial consignment from Palestine would be small so that every orange could be examined, he said. He intended to arrange for this fruit to be distributed only in the South Island.
