PATUTAHI BALL REVIVAL PROVES BRIGHT SUCCESS

The return to the winter dancing calendar of the Patutahi parish Anglican Church ball was greeted enthusiastically last night, when the Patutahi Hall was filled by a large number of people, all delighted that the fixture was again being held after a lapse during the war and immediate postwar years. People from all districts in the parish lent a willing hand with both preparations and the ball itself, Rere, Ngatapa Patutahi, Pehiri, Hangaroa road, Muriwai and Waingake being represented among the helpers, who were headed by the secretary for the ball, Mrs. C. B. Burland, who was in a saxe blue faconne frock with a pink spray, and Mrs. G. V. Smith, whose frock was of black lace. Oblong troughs filled with chrysanthemums, dahlias, marigolds, hydrangeas and other seasonal blooms were spaced around the hall, troughs of flowers also decorating the tables for the buffet supper. The music was supplied by Miss Lena Ruru’s orchestra. Mrs. A. C. Bellerby and Mr. J. Falkncr supplied extras. The dancers included Mesdames C. H. Williams. H. M. White, D. C. Harris, H. Harris, J. W.
