APPEAL LODGED IN RUATORIA POLICE CASE

It has been ascertained from the Commissioner of Police that charges were recently made against a senior sergeant at Ruatoria in regard to his conduct and that Superintendent Fox, of Napier, conducted an inquiry under the Police Force Act. The senior sergeant was represented by counsel, who was able to cross-examine witness, who gave evidence on oath.
As a result of the inquiry the senior sergeant was found guilty on one charge, and he has given notice of an appeal as provided by the Police Force Act.
The* appeal tribunal will consist. of a stipendiary magistrate as chairman, together with a commissioned officer of the police force and a person nominated by a member of the force.
