CONTROLLED TIPPING
WAIKANAE CREEK CONTINUANCE REQUESTED A request that the council should consider the Question of continuing ioclamation work at the Waikanae Creek bv controlled tipping was received from the Gisborne Thirty-Thousand Club at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Gisborne Borough CouncilThe Mayor. Mr. N. H. Bull, pointed out that following controlled tipping in the area early last year, notice had been received from the Health Department that the practice must cease. It would be a great improvement to the scenic value of the area if the creek was filled in. said Mr. J. H. Hall, and eventually this would have to be done. With the proper control he thought the area could be successfully filled in. On the motion of the Mayor, it was decided that a report regarding the tipping should be obtained from the district medical officer of health, in consultation with the borough engineer, Mr. G. M. Beaumont.
