“WAR NOT IMMINENT”
ATTITUDE OF RUSSIANS BID TO HOLD THE MASSES (11.30 a.m.) FRANKFURT, April 21. “The Russian leaders don’t believe that a third world war is imminent,” said Mr. R. Magidoff the American correspondent whom the Russians ordered to leave Moscow as an alleged spy. Mr. Magidoff, who is on his way back to the United States, said Russia’s anti-Western campaign was not war propaganda but part of its leaders’ bid to keep the masses behind them. Mr-. Magidoff said there was plenty of war production in Russia, but it was merely part of the general plan to increase industrial protection.
