SEIZURE BY SOVIET
CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES EQUIPMENT IN BERLIN GO a.m.) BERLIN, April 21. The Soviet authorities confiscated the equipment in the Soviet sector of 40 construction companies having their head offices in the Western sectors of Berlin. The property confiscated included scaffolding construction, machinery, and small gauge railways. The. Soviet authorities informed the companies that the action had been taken under the Soviet military administration order No. 124 which provides for the sequestration of property belonging to Nazis and war criminals. Reuter’s correspondent in Berlin says that Marshal Sokolovsky formally revealed this order on April 15 when ho announced that confiscations in Sovietoccupied Germany had ended.
