MAKARAKA FUNCTION ANZAC DAY DEDICATION A memorial library cabinet in commemoration of the ex-pupils and men of the district who fell in the Second World War will be dedicated at an Anzac Day service at the MakarakaMatawhero School next Sunday. The school committee and the Makaraka Parents’ Association recently collected £IOO to provide the memorial library cabinet. A handsome polished cabinet has been made in Gisborne and has been filled with books of interest to children. The cabinet will be kept in the school and will take the place of •an Houours Board. A Roll of Honour hand-inscribed by Miss K- Salter. Gisborne, and bound into book form commemorating the six ex-pupils of the school and the four residents of the district who gave their lives in the Second World War will remain in the library. The dedication service, which is to be conducted by the Revs. J. G. B. Talbot and I. Cameron, will take place at 11.15 a.m. on Sunday. Mr. W. M, Wilson, chairman of the Makaraka Parents’ Association, will preside over the gathering. The four Gisborne members of tire Hawke's Bay Education Board, Messrs. J. T. Hill, A. T. Coleman, G. Brown and F. Faram, are expected (o be present. Prior to the dedication service, which will include the Anzac Day service, exservicemen will march from the Makaraka Hall to the school.
