KEEN ON BADMINTON
MANY NEW PLAYERS The increasing popularity of the game in the district was demonstrated by the large attendance at the Army Hall on Monday evening for the season opening of the Gisborne Badminton Club. The gathering included a big proportion of new' players and owing to the restricted accommodation for playing consideration is being given to a limitation of club membership. For a season opening the standard of play was high. Top-ranking players of lasi season gave indications of very keen competition in the coming period and many of the new members showed promising form. Competition matches wdth teams from other clubs arc planned for the near future.
