National Savings.
Last week 341 of the 352 areas in the Dominion for which national savings quotas had been allotted were successful in obtaining their weekly objectives. Since April 1 nine towns have the distinction of already excedeing their full quotas for the new financial year. During the year ended March 31, 13,340 new national savings group depositors were enrolled in tac tories, offices, shops and Government departments, and 408 new groups formed. In addition. 9331 individual accounts were opened, making a total of 22,671 new accounts, against 18,791 for the preceding financial year. There are now well over half a million national savings accounts in operation.
