IRAQ “PRACTICAL AID”
PALESTINIAN ARABS CHIEFS MEET IN AMMAN (11 a.m.) LONDON, April 20. The Iraq Cabinet, according to a reliable report quoted by Reuter’s correspondent in Baghdad decided on “practical aid” for the Palestine Arabs after hearing a report from General Ismail Safwat, Commander-in-Chief of the Arab Liberation Army. Reuter’s Jerusalem correspondent says it is officially announced that Fawzi El Kawakji, field commander of the Arab Liberation Army, has arrived at Amman for talks with the chiefs of King Abdullah’s Arab Legion In Beirut the port authorities held the American freighter Exford for carrying explosives and automatic arms, apparently for Palestine.
