ORDERED TO MOVE

AIRLINE ROSE BAY TERMINAL STATE PRESSURE ALLEGED SYDNEY, April 20 The Civil Aviation Department has given Trans-Oceanic Airways notice to move two of its workships from Rose Bay flying-boat base. Trans-Oceanic Airways, which is privately owned and which employs 22 exservicemen, operates five Sunderland flying boats. It is in competition with the Government-owned Qantas Empire Airways as it runs a fortnightly service to Lord Howe Island and a monthly service to the Solomons. “This notice to move is the culmination of a series of competitive pressures which the Civil Aivation Department has brought to bear on us,” said the manager, Mr. M. Lindsay. "Our fares are lower than those of ,Qantas wherever our agreement permits us to reduce fares. By being forced to leave Rose Bay we shall suffer a very real and quite unreasonable competitive disadvantage.”
