WELL-PACED COMEDY
Improving materially upon the first night’s performance, the cast of “Arsenic and Old Lace” last night again scored a substantial success with the presentation of the Kesselring farce, pacing their work excellently and winning an almost perfect response from the audience, many members of which expressed regret that the season was limited to two performances. The play closed with a spontaneous tribute to the players and to the producer, Mr. John Kitchen, whose work was warmly praised by Mr. J. Leggat. patron of the Little Theatre group. Mr. Kitchen referred to the fact that of the 14 players only one had had previous experience of repertory work, and complimented the whole cast upon the diligence they had displayed. He also expressed the appreciation of the group to Mr. J. Livingstone, stage manager for the production, to whom he presented a photograph of the rather complicated stage set, autographed by members of the cast. Without Mr. Livnigstone's practised aid, said the producer, the staging of the comedy would have been infinitely more difficult,
