Regent.—Red Shelton in M.G.M.’s uproarious comedy hit, "Merton of the Movies," commences today. _ Featured in the film are Virginia O’Brien. Gloria Grahame, Leon Ames, Alan Mowbray and Charles D. Brown. The picture describes the adventures of a movie-struck, country youth, played by Red Skelton, who tries to break into the Hollywood of the early nineteen hundreds. His adventures in the old-time silent movie studios are among the funniest ever seen on the screen. Majestic.—Warner Bros., newest film drama, “Nobody Lives Forever,” provides John Garfield with a role which should go far toward pleasing his staunchest fans. _ The popular screen “toughie,” co-starred in the picture with Geraldine Fitzgerald, portrays a rugged and ready army veteran struggling to re-establish himself as a “biggie”, in American rackets, a role peculiarly suited to the Garfield talents. The cast includes vvalter Brennan, Faye Emerson, and George Tobias. King’s.—“ New Orleans, starring Arturo De Cordora and Dorothy Patrick, begins today.
