W. N. MASEFIELD, of the Blenheim Defence Rifle Club, who at the age of 66 years established a New Zealand record by winning the Ballinger Belt at the national rifle meeting at Trentham for the fifth time. The previous record of four championships was shared with Masefield by D. Roots (Patea). Masefield’s five wins were 1914, 1929, 1936, 1939 and 1918.
