SURF CHAMPIONSHIPS (P.A.) WANGANUI, March 15. Lyall Bay (Wellington) won both the Hackshaw-Searle Shield and the Gibson Shield, the principal events at the West Coast, North Island surf championships held at CastleclifT dayLyall Bay also took the honours in the march past, with Maranui runnerup. The competitors had to contend with a strong surf. It was _ the first West Coast surf championships for several years.
