Mortleman, presented the financial statement. The trade table was quickly emptied and arrangements made for a “Paddy’s Market” to be held on April 17. Personal Mr. A. F. Gellert and Mrs. Allen Gellert were recent visitors to Opotiki, where Mr. Gellert, senior, now lives, and Mr. K. Gellert from Queensland is spending a holiday. Miss Jill Grant left Matawai last week to commence training as a nurse at the Wellington Hospital. Her elder sister, Denise, is an aide at the Public Hospital, Palmerston North: and Miss Patricia Grant has received a position at the Old People's hospital at Awapuni. Dog Trials Pending Preparations for the competitions of the Matawai Dog Trials Club to be held early next month were reviewed at a recent meeting of the club. Mrs. 11. Bulst has agreed to supervise the catering arrangements with the voluntary assistance of others willing to cooperate. A silver cup to be added to the list of trophies has been donated by Mrs. Ward.
