AUCKLAND CUP APPEAL CASE

(P A.) WELLINGTON. March 13. rpHE appeal of J. H. Marshall, JL owner of Flowe, to the Racing Conference against the decision of the Auckland district committee, which confirmed the action taken by tiie Auckland Racing Club's judicial committee in reversing the placings in the 1947 Auckland Cup and awarding the race to BaJgowan, was opened in Wellington yesterday and after a lengthy sitting was adjourned for a future hearing. , H V Lunken, owner of King s Ransom, has also appealed, and this is being heard in conjunction with Marshall’s appeal. The judges are Mr. J. MacFarlane Laing, Masterton, Mr. J. Graham, Feilding. and Mr. P. A. O'Neill, Wanganui. . Dr. O. C. Mazengarb, K.C., is appearing for Marshall, Mi’. W. L. Leicester for Lunken, and Mr. V. R. Meredith for the Auckland district committee.
