£SOO FOR CHINESE
COMPENSATION PAYMENT NOW LIVING IN CHINA (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 11. A Chinese widow living in Kwantung Province, China, is to receive after the payment of costs half of £1125 paid into Court in settlement of an action by her husband's executors for compensation in respect of the death as a result of an accident of her husband, Chung Hung, formerly a market gardener, of Otaki. The remaining half is to be held and applied by her in equal shares for the benefit of her three children. Mr. Justice Gresson in a reserved judgment to this effect said the method of payment would be left to the executors’ discretion, but he recommended that it be done through the Chinese Consul-General in Wellington.
