GO-SLOW REJECTED
DUNEDIN SECRET BALLOT (P.A.) DUNEDIN, March 9.
By approximately a two-to-one majority it is learned that members of the Dunedin Carpenters and Joiners’ Union decided not to adopt a go-slow when a secret ballot on the proposal was taken.
Otago and Southland carpenters are on a separate award, which is nevertheless identical in its wages clauses with the award which is the subject of dispute in northern centres. The district superintendent of the Department of Labour and Employment. Mr. W. H. Cadwallader. today said that he had been in touch with the leading employers and there was no evidence of a go-slow being adopted.
