COMMERCIAL Consumers are notified that the requirements of the Electricity Control Order 1945 and Amendments in respect, of window and interior lighting of commercial premises must be strictly adhered to. The requirements of the Order are as follows: All exterior or interior sign lighting (other than utility signs), all interior or exterior outline or ornamental lighting, floodlighting of buildings, and underverandah lighting is prohibited. The lighting of shop windows is prohibited on all nights except Friday nights, and then only for the period between half an hour after sunset and 9 p.m. Shop window lighting must not exceed an average of 10 watts for each foot of window frontage Interior lighting of shops, milk bars, restaurants or dining rooms must not exceed 100 watts for each 100 square feet of floor area. Interior lighting of theatres, concert or dance halls, cabarets, public or private hotel lounges or hotel bars must not exceed 60 watts for each 100 square feet of floor area. R. P.
