Ranfurly Shield Games
A second application for a match against Otago with the Ranfurly Shield at stake was received at this week’s meeting of the management committee of the Otago Rugby Football Union. It was from the Wanganui Union, which wrote that its representative team was undertaking a southern tour in the 1948 season and put Sept. 14 tentatively forward as a date for the match against Otago. The committee decided to hold the request over until after the annual meeting of delegates to the New Zealand Rugby Union.
