APPROACH AWAITED OFFER BY THE BUILDERS? (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 25. The latest news on the carpenters and builders' dispute here is: First, the union, while still going stow awaits an approach by the Master Builders' Association concerning the association's decision to pay extra wages. Secondly, the president of the Builders’ Association, Mr. R. Savory, considers "it is easy for the Prime Minister or anyone on the sideline, to egg on a light when someone clse's money is at stake.’

Thirdly, the Auckland Returned Services’ Association is concerned at the possible efleet of the go-slow policy on returned servicemen building homes and offices.

Mr. Savory states that Auckland firms have lost about £2500 a week lotthree weeks, “While the Government vacillated and then failed to move effectively.”

The secretary of the Auckland Master Builders’ Association, Mr. M. Bunker, said later today that the employers generally now had informed the men that they were prepared to pay the extra rate and in many cases the offer had been accepted and normal .work i
