CONFIDENCE VOTE WON

FRENCH GOVERNMENT COMMUNIST MOVE FAILS (11.45 a.m.) PARIS, Feb. 24. The Government won a vote of confidence by 291 votes to 268. The vote was taken as a result of a Communist move to force the Government to repay before April 15 all the 5000 franc notes which have been called in. The Communist Party’s secretary, M. Duclos, during the debate, called for national elections to determine the balance of power.
