RUMANIAN ACTION
OIL WELLS TAKEN OVER BOTH FOREIGN-OWNED (11 a.m.) BUCHAREST, Dec. 15. It is officially announced that the Rumanian Government took over control of two large foreign-owned oil companies in Rumania one of which is reported to control 30 per cent, of the country’s oil production. The companies are the Astra-Romana and the Unirea. The Government alleged that the owners —the Royal Dutch Shell and the British company Phoenix Oil and Transport—have been guilty of “bad will and the theft of oil from Government soil.”
