Extensive drainage operations commenced in Yugoslavia are expected to bring in 27,000 acres of new land to production. Recruiting for the women’s land army in Britain is securing a response of 300 to 400 applications a week. Over 20,000 have been enrolled. A curry comb working on the vacuum cleaner principle is being developed in America and Is, already in use on a research farm. -
