DUTCH ARTIST GAOLED
OLD MASTERS FAKED (10 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, Nov. 12. A court sentenced a Dutch painter or faked old masters, Hans van Meegeren, to one year’s gaol for fraud. The court decided that the pictures which Meegeren painted, signed with the names of seventeenth century Dutch painters, Vermeer and De Hoogh, would be returned to the owners, namely, the Dutch Museums, the Dutch Government and private persons.
