BODY FOUND IN DRAIN
FORMER WAIROA MAN (P.A.) TAURANGA, Nov. 13. Missing since Tuesday morning, the body of Mr Clyde Villers Taylor, aged 42, a prominent farmer of Te Puna, was found in a drain on his property under 2ft of running water and with a shotgun across his knees. At the inquest yesterday it was disclosed that Mr Taylor had been worried over his herd and had been working too hard. He had no assistance on the farm. , , Tt . The deceased, who was born in Wairoa, was married, with one child aged 16 years. The verdict at the inquest was that death was the result of a gunshot wound self-inflicted while mentally de. ranged. DROWNED IN BULLER (P.A.) WESTPORT. Nov. 13. When he experienced difficulty with an oar lock when crossing the Buller River in a dinghy on Tuesday evening near Newton Flat. Mr Thomas Mooney, a married man, aged 45, licensee of the Newton Flat Hotel, was thrown from the boat and was swept downstream. His body had not been recovered yesterday morning , , , , Mr Mooney, who had been on a deer hunt was noticed to be in difficulties by Mr G Marshall, of Westport, but he was too far away to be of any assistance when the dinghy turned over, and he lost sight of Mr Mooney as he was swept away.
