COMMUNISTS ATTACKED
ROMAN CATHOLIC VIEW MELBOURNE, Sept. 29. The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne, Dr. Mannix, stated that he was sure that the Communists would be delighted ii the bill to nationalise the banks was passed. “If the Communists ever get control of this country it will not matter in the least whether there are banks, or only one bank, as Australia will be down and out.
“Some people are talking a great deal about the attitude of the Pope and of the Bishops of Australia, but neither the Pop© nor the bishops as a body have as yet said anything for or against the proposed legislation. ‘lt is for those behind the legislation to show, if they can, the desirability or necessity for it.’'
