MINERS’ DEMAND
ALL-ROUND WAGE RISE £2 WEEKLY SUGGESTED LONDON, Sept. 18. The national executive of the Mine Workers’ Union decided today to press immediately for an all-round wage increase. The executive fixed no figure, but £7 weekly has been suggested, says the Daily Herald. This would mean £2 increase on the present rates. The cost to the Coal Board would be £1,500,000 weekly.
