HOLDEN, at the Stud Farm, Mangateretere, HASTINGS, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7th, 1947, commencing at 1 p.m. 21 2-year-old Shorthorn Bulls. 1 3-year-old Bull. 5 1-year-old Bulls. The majority of the 2-year-old Bulls catalogued are sired by “Emperor of Te Puna”—by “Barugh Golden Star” imported, and descended on the Dam’s side from “Naemoor Jealousy 10th” Imported The remaining 2-year-olds, and the 3-year-old Bull are sired by “Prince of Te Puna”, and “Master of Te Puna”, the latter an outstanding son of the Royal Champion, “Vindictive of Stonelands”, imported. The five yearling bulls are sired by the Canadian-born Scotch bred sire “Glenburn Keepsake”, who, on both sides of his pedigree, is of similar breeding to “Vindictive of Stonelands” imported. The Te Puna herd commands a leading place in the Show and Sale records of this Dominion, and no effort is being spared to maintain the herd to a true Shorthorn type, embracing strong constitution and with excellent head and carcass.
