GISBORNE MARKET
Vegetables have been coming forward move plentifully during the past week, according to the weekly report from Gisborne Markets, Ltd. With caulillowers in over-supply, prices were cheaper. Values were steady for cabbages and most other lines.
Ceiling prices were being paid for good quality pumpkins. New potatoes arc expected to make their appearance in increasing quantities next week. All citrus fruits are still wanted. Prices:—Tree tomatoes, 22s tkl a. case; beetroot, ris ease: cabbage. Savoy and spring, ceiling: cauliflowers, -Is to 20a sack; celery, 10s to 20s case; leeks. Is to 2s do7.en : spring onions. Is dozen: spinach. Hs to 0s case; radish, Is to 2s dozen; silver beet, 2s dozen bundles; pumpkins. ISs to 27s Cd ewt.; new potatoes, ceiling; citrus fruits, ceiling; parsnips, 4s to Ss sack: lettuce. 4a to lbs case.
