Earthquakes at Otoko
Residents of the Otoko area were shaken overnight in the series of earthquakes felt in the high country by settlers of Matawai and Motu. One resident of the district said there were 14 ’quakes at Otoko between 11.55 p.m. and 4 a.m. All of the shakes were described as severe, with the worst of the group at 1.50 a.m. Another ’quake was felt at 12.40 p.m: today, that being the first since daylight.
