STILL IMPROVING
S. ISLAND POWER SUPPLY (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Aug. 11. “The electric supply position in the South Island is continuing to improve, due to the generally mild conditions.’' said the Minister of Works, Mr. R. Semple. today. The available storage of water for use over the next seven weexs had increased, with the result that the electricity controller had advised the supply authorities of a further 10 per cent, increase in the weekly allocations, bringing the available supply of power up to the 19-16 level. This was due not only to the improve ment in the hydraulic conditions, but to the co-operation of consumers in economist" when that w-w necessary.
