OBITUARY
MRS. I. L. BARTLETT A member of a well-known pioneer family of Gisborne, Mrs. Irene Lavinia Bartlett, died in the Cook Hospital this morning at the age of 43 years. Born in Gisborne, she was the eldest daughter of Mrs. Wilson and the late Mr. William Wilson. Mrs. Bartlett was educated in Gisborne and a’so married Mr. Norman Cornelius Bartlett here. A woman of keen Christian principles. Mrs. Bartlett was well-liked in the community. She had not enjoyed the best of health over the past few months. She is survived by her husband and four sons and three daughters, Messrs. R„ A.. D. and C. Bartlett, and Mrs. D. Merton. Misses Jean and Rona Bartlett, all of Gisborne. There are four grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. H, Craighead. A service will be held in Cochrane’s chapel, Williams street, at 1.45 p.m. tomorrow. and the funeral will leave later for the Taruheru cemetery.
