CARPENTRY SCHOOL

PLAY IN GISBORNE Members of the rehabilitation carpentry classes, together with instructors and clerical staff members, organised four Rugby teams for week-end matches played on the Oval. The games were followed with keen interest by a large gathering of class members and their families. In the first game Extension Class was defeated by Class VI, comprising men from the groups working on the Lytton road-Childers road housing block. For the winners two unconverted tries and a field goal totted up to 10 points, the Extension Class scoring a converted, try and a penalty goal for a total of eight points. The other match was drawn between Class V (Mill road) and School Class VII with a score of 6-all. Both sides scored two unconverted tries. Mr. P. Habib refereed both matches.
