DISTRICT HALL FUNDS
Sir.—lt w ; with pleasure that I read Mr Todd's letter about the Garrison Hall. ,1 can confirm all that he has said, as I was a member of J Battery in the years 1885-6-7. All the mombers of the battery gave two years captation (£5), beside other moneys from concerts etc. The last entertainment I remember being given in the Theatre Royal, netted over £7O. Now seeing that the Government is charging such a high rent, surely wo ought to get something back. I would suggest that the Government returns us our £5 with compound interest from 1887 to date.
