100,000 IN NEW YORK BALKANS AID OPPOSED (10 a.m.) NEW YORK, May. 2. The annual May Day parade was marked by posters directed at the. defeat of the pending anti-labour legislation and President Truman’s programme of aid to Greece, Turkey and China. “Let the Greek people decide their own destiny,” ‘‘Hitler cried Red and Democracy was Dead,” and “Free Spain Now,” were characteristic posters. It is estimated that 100,000 took part in the march. The crowd later gathered in Union Square, where they heard speakers, including the negro singer, Paul Robeson. Roman Catholics throughout the United States, Canada and Hawaii joined in special prayers “for the Russian people and for the millions living in Communist-dominated lands.”
