CAMEOS WORN

NEW PLYMOUTH WEDDING Considerable interest in Gisborne attached to the wedding in New Plymouth of Marguerite, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Chamberlain, New Plymouth, to Plarold Francis Fitzgibbon, only son of Mrs. Atkinson and the late Mr. Fitzgibbon, Gisborne. A lovely gown of white embroidered organza over white taffeta was worn by the bride and tiny satin-covered buttons fastened the long-waisted bodice down the back and also drew in the sleeves at the wrists. The very full skirt fell softly from a bustle effect. The train was applique-edged round the pattern in the material and over this the bride wore a veil of Brussels net, silk embroidered, which had come from England and was loaned by a friend. Mrs Graeme King, New Plymouth. It was caught by a halo ot flowers to match those in her bouquet, which were carnations, gypsophila. irises and cream gladioli. She wore a cameo set of pendant, bracelet and earrings, which had been brought home from Italy as a gift from her brother. A cousin of the bride, Beatrix Harper, Auckland, was chief bridesmaid. with Betty Fitzgibbon, the groom’s sister from Gisborne, and Beryl D’Ath, Otahi, who were frocked alike in apricot self-spotted net worn over satin, and fashioned on the same lines as the bride’s gown, but with short sleeves. They wore flowers in their hair in flame and golden shadings that blended with their posies of chrysanthemums, marigolds and abutilon. Each wore a cameo fob, the gift of the groom. The ’groom’s attendants were Peter Maurice Chamberlain, the bride’s brother, Alan Malcolm, Hawera, and Frank Cobbledick, Auckland. The reception was held at Te Ara. where Mrs. Chamberlain was assisted by Mrs Atkinson to receive their guests. The bride will be making her new home in Ro.torua.
