Mrs. S. D. Reeves, Tolaga Bay, is visiting Gisborne for the races and is a guest at Almadale Guest House. Mrs. H. Cory-Wright; Tairua, is spending a holiday with her daughters, the Misses P. and C. Cory-Wright, Tikitiki. Mrs. E. Mercer, Childers road, will be leaving shortly on an extended holiday in Suva, where she will be the guest of her son, Mr. Jim Mercer. Miss Margaret Enwright, Napier, visited her aunt, Mrs. L. B. Jackson, Gisborne, this week. Mrs. M. Stoneham travelled to Wellington this week and will be the guest of Mrs. A. Tyndall, Boulcott terrace, during her stay in that city. Mrs. G. H. Broughton, Auckland, has been visiting Mrs. J. H. Hudson, Stout street, for the past six weeks. Although 85 years of age, she flew from Auckland to Gisborne and, after thoroughly enjoying her flight, will return by air on Monday. A visitor to Gisborne is Mrs. W. E. McCormick, Picton, who -formerly was well known in sports and social circles here as Miss Belle Pearce. Mrs. McCormick is accompanied by her second daughter, who has taken up a nursing career and is on the staff of the Wairau Hospital, Marlborough. Visiting Gisborne and the surrounding district over the past week has been Miss M. Feickert, a New Zealander who is an outstanding missionary worker. Miss Feickert is on a lecture tour of New Zealand and in this district has spoken in Gisborne, Te Karaka, Wae-renga-a-hika and Patutahi. She will go on to the Auckland diocese from the Waiapu diocese and from there to the South Island. Miss Feickert held the post of principal of the Dornakal Diocesan Girls’ High School, the Teachers’ Training College and the Model School in Southern India since the beginning of 1940, and returned to New Zealand last August for this ture tour. She will be going back to India in the first week in November. Mrs. C. A. Oliver (formerly Miss Hazel Nolan), who was for some time in England before her recent return to New Zealand, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Nolan, Russell street.. Miss Zoe Curran, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Curran, Poukawa, Hawke's Bay, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Armstrong, Stout street. Miss Curren is on the nursing staff of the Waipukurau Hospital.
