REVOLT ON CRETE
ASSAULT BY GUERRILLAS ATHENS, April 29. Fighting has broken out on Crete between left-wing guerrillas and police. More than 400 guerrillas are reported to be massing around Canea. The Government has announced that communication between Crete and the mainland are confined to an air service and small ships because armed bands have put the wireless services out of order. E.A.M is demanding that all Cretans exiled for political reasons should be returned.
