Ten rounds of fafct, clever- boxing delighted the very large crowd which almost filled the Town Hall to see the New Zealand professional welterweight champion. lan Cruickshanks, lOst 3|lb, gain a narrow points decision over Johnny Newman, England, lOst ljlb. The bout was filled with action from ,the opening gong and the spectators showed their appreciation and opinion by rising to their feet at the close of the last round and calling for a draw. Cruickshanks received the referee’s deciding vote.
