ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS
“Mrs. Aladdin” and “Irate”: If you are not satisfied with the Power Board’s explanation of the system of applying the cuts, you may redraft your letters in light ol the information given. Several further letters have been received on .the subject of power restrictions raising questions that have already been covered in the discussions of the problem. Several of these letters complain that their electricity accounts show an increase despite the fact that the services have been cut. Mr. Baigent points out that it has been explained in the Herald previously that the Power Board has decided upon a 121 per cent, concession for the month of March, although the restrictions applied only to about 10 days of the month. This applies to fiat rate charges. The working out of these concessions entails a considerable amount of clerical work but consumers will receive their credits in due course. In regard to the current month of April the board has authorised a reduction, according to the service given, not exceeding CO per cent.
