TRIBUTE TO ANZACS
GEN. SIR lAN HAMILTON WREATH FOR CENOTAPH (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 23. Among the wreaths that will grace the Cenotaph on Anzac Day at Wellington will be one of plain laurel and the following card attached: "In undying remembrance of my New Zealand comrades, who freely gave their lives that the fame of their island might endure.—lan Hamilton, General." It will be the first time since the outbreak of the last war that the wreath has appeared, but for 10 years or so prior to 1939 it was a familiar sight at the Cenotaph every Anzac Day. being sent out from England on -j >efriserated cargo ship. General Sir lan Hamilton can no longer send an English wreath, but this year he has sent a request to Lady Freyborg to have a New Zealand-made one placed on the Cenotaph on his behalf.
