250,000 BRITISH TOURISTS
SUMMER TRIP PLANS (Special Correspondent. > (10 a.m.) LONDON. March 25. While the Government is making plans to attract 250,000 overseas tourists to Britain this year, British travel agencies report that at least 250.000 British residents have already booked accommodation on the Continent for this year’s holidays. If more accommodation and _ more ships were available, it is estimated that the bookings would be double this figure. The number has been very greatly increased by many thousands of workers who, this year, will have holidays with pay for the first time. Travel agencies are quoting Belgian seaside holidays at £ls for eight days. Paris £22 10s for a similar'period and £65 for 15 days in the South of France. Twelve days’ motor tour of the Pyrenees and the Basque country is estimated to cost £6O. It is expected that tourist travel to Italy will be resumed this year and also air tours of North Africa.
