MURDER CONFESSION
PRISONER’S STATEMENT
APPEAL BY ROWLAND (9 am.) LONDON, Jan. 28. When the appeal of Walter Graham Rowland, who was sentenced to death for the murder of Olive Belchin in Manchester, came before the Court of Criminal Appeal, the appellant’s counsel said it seemed that David John Ware, who was serving a sentence in the Liverpool prison, fully confessed to the murder.' Ware in a statement to the police dated January 24 described in considerable detail the way in which he murdered the woman.
It might be necessary to obtain permission to call Ware and investigate the matter more fully.
The appeal was adjourned for a fortnight.
