PORT FOR TRANSHIPMENT (10.15 a.m.) MANILA, Jan. 28. The President of the Philippines, Don Manuel Roxas, addressing the second session of the first National Congress, said he looked forward to the development somewhere in the Philippines of a
free port to serve as a transhipment port for trade with Asia and Australia and New Zealand. “If we create the proper conditions our country can become the hub of trade and transportation between the Orient and the Occident.”
