Current articles in English papers and pamphlets describing the operation of an emergency scheme of teacher training had revealed a situation regarding staffing, buildings and facilities for student Jife which placed New* Zealand conditions in a very unfavourable light said the principle of the Wellington Teachers' Training College, Mr. F. C. Lopdell, in his annual report. Mr. Lopdell said that the staffing of the English training colleges was on a liberal scale and consequently lecturers were able to demonstrate practical methods and techniques to a greater extent than possible under New Zealand conditions.
